Description
Mineral (OOP/Collectors) Galaxy Blue and Grey
Upon the release of their debut album The Power of Failing in 1997, Austin, TX-based band Mineral quickly emerged as one of the leaders in the burgeoning indie/emo music scene. Propelled by the "Gloria" / "Parking Lot" single, college radio loved the record and the press gushed about the band. NME listed the album as one of "20 Emo Albums That Have Resolutely Stood The Test Of Time" and Rolling Stone ranked it at No. 17 in their list of the "40 Greatest Emo Albums of All Time." It was inevitable that the major labels would come calling. Interscope Records eventually won the major label beauty contest and signed the band. However, they would only release one final record (EndSerenading, 1998) before calling it a day. In a short amount of time, Mineral's poignant dynamics combined with impassioned lyrics about coming of age, influenced bands everywhere and still inspire new bands in the indie scene today.
